Painting, Lugging, Clearing

Another big day at Ambleside. We started the day with a bike ride out along the Boggabri Road, stopping for a coffee at the Manilla North cafe. We've been preparing for an influx of visitors, so first task today was rearranging the dining area downstairs. then, on the spur of the moment I decided that the dark green dining room wall had to go. A few hours later the wall had been stripped, repainted and was resplendent in white. At the moment, it is only undercoat, but that can be our secret.

Dave got back up on the roof and put a baffle in the gutter to reduce the amount of rain that is now being diverted through the rain bells at the front door. Aside from that, I got rid of the planter frame around one of the pool pillars, had a good tidy-up around the yard, and took a load of cardboard to the tip. We had a hugely threatening storm move in, but it only gave a few mm of rain with loads of lightening and thunder.

Dave continued his nasi goreng practice on Peter and Dot, who appreciated it muchly. The microbats were out as usual in the garden as darkness fell, and we spent the evening with wild yarns about years gone by.
This wall was dark green yesterday!
